| This brush head promises whiter teeth in only one week. It’s a claim that the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean toothbrush head lives up to. It’s hard to say whether the claim of removing up to 100% more stains than a manual toothbrush is totally accurate (it could be 105% or 95%, how on earth do they measure these things anyway?) but after 7 days I can say that my teeth did look whiter to my admittedly unscientific eye. Also featured is a stain-removal pad that is formed from tightly-packed diamond-shaped bristles, so it’s better at removing the surface stains that food and drinks leave behind. They also say that it cleans away up to 7 times more plaque than a manual brush after only 4 weeks of use. |

| As the name would suggest, this brush head is made to be extra gentle on sensitive gums while still promising great plaque removal. It has tightly packed tufts that feel as if they remove just as much plaque, because your teeth feel smooth, but if you have tender gums they don’t feel bothered. These tufts are curved so that they can reach your back teeth easily, and they have been profiled to cushion teeth. Despite the softness they still get rid of 6 times as much plaque as a manual toothbrush. I found these to be effective and pleasant to use at times when my gums had taken a beating from stiffer brushes and were feeling sensitive. |

| A healthier gum for a healthier smile is how they bill this one. They claim your gums will be 7 times healthier than using a manual brush in just 2 weeks. Again, the cleaning action felt gentle and my gums never irritated. Flexible sides and bristles absorbed extra pressure when I was pressing too hard, and you can feel how the curved design maximizes contact with the surface of each tooth. I can believe them when they say that the Premium Gum Care head removes up to 10 times more plaque than a manual toothbrush. The speed of the action makes up for less pressure and whizzes away any bacteria and plaque from your gums, leaving them feeling well rinsed. |

| The Premium White removes twice the stains of a manual brush in 3 days for a brighter smile, they tell us. As a hard-core coffee drinker, I can believe them. The dense bristles cut through the usual brown build up that I get after hitting the java, and the contoured sides definitely lived up to the promise of 4 times more surface contact. The standard version is simple soft and comfortable while the sensitive version has softer bristles which are gentler and kinder to gums. | This easy click-on brush head offers 4 times more contact area than a manual toothbrush. Philips claims that it follows the unique shape of a person’s teeth and gums and I think they are right. It’s got flexible sides made of soft rubber so the bristles do feel like they adjust to the shape of each tooth, which has to be better for getting into all the nooks and crannies where bits of food and plaque often hide. Phillips also say that you get up to 10 times more plaque removal between the teeth and along your gum line, which is hard to gauge but my teeth certainly felt a lot cleaner. With this head, they have made it hard to over-brush, because that soft rubber absorbs a lot of the pressure if you press on it a bit too much. It will wear out eventually though, so keep your eye on the blue bristles. These will turn white to let you know that your three-monthly change is due. All in all, it’s a versatile brush head for every occasion. |

| Sonicare for kids brush heads are designed for smaller mouths, and come in 2 types, for 3+ year olds and 7+ year olds. They are both 75% more effective than the kid manual toothbrush (the one that they’ve chewed so that the bristles look like a scarecrow.) For children it’s really important to instill good brushing habits, and these brush heads are pleasant enough to do just that. They give a gentle but effective clean, so there shouldn’t be any tears or protests any time soon. The price is unlikely to cause tears either. Please note that although Sonicare for Kids are “Click-on” brush head system, which means it can fit to most the Sonicare electric brush handles (expect for the Essence series), I still suggest you purchase this brush head together with the sonicare kid electric toothbrush since there are several child customization functions on that brush handle make them the best match effect |

It looks like a manual toothbrush head, so will appeal to people accustomed to manual toothbrushes who are just looking for better performance. It has Criss-Cross bristles on the side that clean along the gum line gently and effectively. As you’d expect, results are good. These heads have very reasonable price. | |
